our story

sweeties was founded in 2023 by Jamila and Anika Gramsey, who sought to build a place to spark joy and foster community.

After years of talking about opening an ice cream shop and testing soft serve with friends and family, they sketched the concept that would become sweeties: a place to bring people together around exceptional ice cream and the spirit of a classic ice cream social.

Today, sweeties is a New Zealand–style soft serve shop in Roslindale Village, where the Gramseys live nearby and where their children attend Boston Public Schools. Inspired by family traditions, nostalgic flavors and a love of gathering, sweeties was created to feel like a joyful neighborhood meeting place—charming, a little quirky and full of color.
