Our Sweet Story.

Sweeties was founded in 2023 by Jamila and Anika Gramsey, married moms who were ready to trade the nonstop pace of corporate life for something joyful and community-focused.

After years of talking about opening an ice cream shop and testing soft serve with friends and family, they came across a listing for Jimmie’s Cafe in Roslindale Village one evening and thought, why not? Soon after, sitting on their porch with a half sheet of paper, they sketched the concept that would become Sweeties: a place to bring people together around exceptional ice cream and the spirit of a classic ice cream social.

Sweeties is a New Zealand–style soft serve shop in Roslindale Village, where the Gramseys live nearby and where their children attend Boston Public Schools. Inspired by family traditions, nostalgic flavors and a love of gathering, Sweeties was created to feel like a joyful neighborhood meeting place—charming, a little quirky and full of color.
